"CALORIES BURNING-RATE" OF VARIOUS FOOD

All kinds of  food has the tendency to burn calories during the digestive process. This process of burning calories is termed as "THERMIC EFFECT". But different kinds of food has different burning rate.
Our body needs all the vital compounds like Carbohydrates, Fibre, Minerals, Vitamins, Proteins and Fats. But the quantity needed by our body differs from one element to another. Dietitians consider these burning rates of food to prepare the Diet Plan.

CARBOHYDRATES:

Cereals contain carbohydrate. Carbohydrates are the main body building element and are required to maintain the blood sugar level and the insulin level. Our red blood cells and the brain cells depend on them.

                           BURNING RATE IS 20%

VITAMINS & MINERALS:

Fruits and vegetables  contain ample amount of vitamins and minerals. They have high moisture content, sometimes water content of 90% (eg: Watermelon). So they contain few calories, but require more calories to burn them.

                            BURNING RATE IS 20%

 PROTEINS:

Eggs, poultry and fish constitutes  the Protein family. The protein takes more time to digest when compared with the carbohydrates, Vitamins, Minerals and Fats. The downside of consuming more proteins is that they are hard to digest , so it will strain the liver and kidneys when consumed plenty.

                            BURNING RATE IS 30 %

 FATS:

Cheese, Oil, Butter has great fat-contents. Fats on the other hand has the lowest burning rate among all. It uses very less calories during the digestion process, which is one of the reasons of increase in weight. Fat is useful to our body for the absorption of fat- soluble vitamins, manufacture of essential hormones, maintaining healthy skin and hair.
